FieldNav Ag Maps (“the App”) is a field navigation application designed for farmers, agronomists, and land professionals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed to store your data locally on your device, minimizing data collection and keeping you in control of your information.

Information We Collect

Location Data

The App uses your device's GPS to provide precise location services for field navigation. This includes:

  • Your current location for map display and navigation
  • Compass heading for directional guidance
  • Custom field entrance coordinates you choose to save

Location data is processed on your device and is not transmitted to external servers. You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings.

Locally Stored Data

The following information is stored locally on your device:

  • Saved parcels and field entrances
  • Field notes and observations
  • Crop and land use information you enter
  • Custom boundaries you create
  • App preferences and settings
  • Recent search history

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third parties.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following external services to provide functionality:

Weather Data (Open-Meteo)

We request weather and rainfall data based on parcel coordinates. Open-Meteo receives only location coordinates (latitude/longitude) to provide weather information. No personal identifying information is shared.

Soil Data (USDA NRCS)

Soil type information is retrieved from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. Only location coordinates are transmitted to request soil data.

Map Services

The App uses mapping services to display satellite imagery and maps. Your approximate viewing area is transmitted to load map tiles.

Data We Do NOT Collect

FieldNav Ag Maps does not collect:

  • Personal identifying information (name, email, phone)
  • Account credentials or payment information
  • Device identifiers for tracking purposes
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Location history sent to our servers
  • Advertising identifiers

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. The only data transmitted from the App are coordinates sent to weather and soil data providers to fulfill your requests for that information.

Data Retention

All user-generated data (saved parcels, notes, preferences) is stored locally on your device. You can delete this data at any time by:

  • Removing individual saved parcels from the Saved tab
  • Clearing app data through your device settings
  • Uninstalling the App

We do not retain any copy of your data on external servers.

Your Rights and Controls

You have full control over your data:

  • Location Access: Enable or disable in your device's Settings > Privacy > Location Services
  • Data Deletion: Delete saved parcels individually or clear all app data
  • Permissions: Revoke any permissions through your device settings at any time

Children's Privacy

The App is designed for professional agricultural use and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
